I just learned more about Jordi Baylina and honestly, he is one of those developers who has truly left a mark on the Ethereum ecosystem without many realizing it.
This guy has been involved in quite serious projects. He was the technical lead at Giveth and IDEN3, co-founder of WalletConnect, and has worked as a lead developer at Circom and SnarkJS. That is, we are talking about someone who has touched several key pieces of the blockchain puzzle.
What’s interesting about Jordi Baylina is that his projects solve real problems. Giveth is a platform for transparent donations on Ethereum, something that doesn’t sound revolutionary but actually changed how organizations can manage contributions. WalletConnect, on the other hand, is that protocol that allows DApps to connect with mobile wallets via QR codes. If you use any DApp from your phone, you’re probably already using something Baylina helped create.
Now, what catches my attention the most is his work on MiniMe. That token enabled the creation of flexible and secure voting mechanisms. Projects like Aragon and District0x adopted it because it simply worked. That’s the kind of impact a good developer leaves.
Currently, Jordi Baylina continues to innovate. He is working on IDEN3 for self-sovereign identities on the blockchain, and on Hermez, a layer 2 solution for Ethereum. These projects show that he remains focused on solving the space’s real problems: scalability, privacy, identity.
The truth is, Baylina’s work has brought more transparency and connectivity to the ecosystem. He’s not one of those chasing hype, but of those building tools that others use. And that, in my opinion, is what really matters in blockchain.
