These days, I've been taught a lesson again by the attention economy... When the group gets lively, I get itchy to chase after it, but then I look back and realize it's mostly an illusion that "participating in discussions = doing homework."

Now I've set a simple trick for myself: when I see a hot topic, I don't add to my position first. I write a sentence about my position size and risk as a memo; if I don't write it, I pretend I didn't see it.
Especially before and after mainstream public chain upgrades/maintenance, everyone is guessing whether the ecosystem will migrate.
Honestly, it's mostly emotional reactions first, then information catches up.
I'm socially anxious and lazy to scroll through a bunch of threads, so I'm most easily led by the rhythm.
But on the other hand, completely ignoring hot topics isn't realistic, so I only focus on two things: whether there's real usage on the chain, and whether the project team has clearly explained migration/compatibility.
As for other trending topics... forget it, I'll wait until I finish sending out the DAO voting reminders.
