Project Eleven’s 1 BTC Bitcoin-style cryptography prize is replicated without quantum hardware

Project Eleven awarded a 1 BTC prize to a researcher who claimed to break a 15-bit elliptic curve key on IBM Quantum hardware. Independent reviewers said they reproduced the result with classical random data on home computers and Linux’s /dev/urandom. Project Eleven’s X announcement now carries a Community Note that says the method showed no quantum advantage.
