Litecoin Suffers 13-Block Reorganization After Double-Spend Attack

Litecoin suffered a 13-block reorganization after a double-spending attack caused about 32 minutes of effective downtime. The exploit used a consensus bug in Litecoin’s MWEB privacy extension that let an attacker mint invalid coins and sell LTC before patched miners rejected the chain. Although the reversed window covered 32 minutes of transactions, the network needed nearly three hours in real time to replace the affected blocks.
