The Opening of the Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference: UN Secretary-General Warns of Rising Nuclear Risks
Golden Finance reports that on April 28th, local time April 27th, the 10th Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons opened at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
The UN Secretary-General, in his speech, warned that the current world is experiencing a “collective amnesia” about the dangers of nuclear weapons, with nuclear threats rising again and the arms control system continuously being eroded.
He called on all countries to fulfill their commitments under the treaty and reaffirmed that disarmament and non-proliferation are the only true paths to peace. (CCTV News)
