Odaily Planet Daily reports that six sources have revealed that NATO is considering ending its recent practice of holding an annual summit. Since 2021, NATO leaders have met every summer, and they are scheduled to gather again in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, from July 7 to 8 this year. However, according to a senior European official and five diplomats (all from NATO member countries), some member states are actively working to slow down the pace of these summits. One diplomat said the summit originally planned for 2027 in Albania is likely to be postponed to that autumn; in addition, NATO is also considering completely canceling the summit in 2028—the year of the U.S. presidential election and also the last full calendar year of Trump’s term.(Jin10)
