On-chain data sometimes "lags," but it's not necessarily your internet connection. Most of the time, it's the indexers/subgraphs still catching up: when a new block arrives, it needs to be parsed, stored, and then query results are generated. If any part of that process is a bit slow, it looks like a fake spike, just like delayed weather forecast updates. Plus, with RPC rate limiting, especially during peak times when everyone is checking balances/logs, your requests get queued, and sometimes you even get a timeout—definitely a test of patience.
A couple of days ago, I saw everyone comparing RWA, US bond yields, and on-chain yield products. My first thought wasn't about who has higher returns, but whether the data sources are reliable and updated quickly enough. Honestly, even if the on-chain yield page is styled like a government bond rate, underneath it's just a bunch of APIs running... Now, when I see data jump suddenly, I first wait a bit—don't rush into trading—just leave it like that for now.
