Canada Bill C-25 Advances Ban on Crypto Political Donations
Canada’s Bill C-25 cleared second reading in the House of Commons, moving a ban on crypto political donations closer to law. The measure would bar crypto contributions across the federal system, including parties, candidates and third parties that run election advertising. Recipients would have 30 days to return illegal crypto contributions or remit them to the Receiver General. Conservatives supported sending the bill to committee, and crypto drew little opposition in debate.
