When the gunfire rang out in Washington, my BTC long position lit up
Early weekend morning, I received a push notification: A shooting occurred at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
My first reaction was shock, the second was to open Gate to check BTC's trend. Sure enough, a bullish candle was forming.
This isn't cold-bloodedness, but muscle memory learned over the years: geopolitical risk = Bitcoin's amplifier. From the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, the Middle East crisis in 2023, to several regional skirmishes in 2025, each has validated this logic. When people fear the traditional system, decentralized assets are re-priced.
This time, it's compounded by the repeated Middle East ceasefire negotiations. The market's biggest fear isn't bad news, but uncertainty. Will the ceasefire agreement be signed? When will it be signed? Will it be torn up after signing? Every question injects volatility premium into Bitcoin.
My judgment at the time was simple: $79,000 is not the end, $80,000 is the first target. So I added to my position at $78,800, with a stop-loss set at $77,500.
When I woke up this morning, I saw it holding steady at $79,300, with a substantial unrealized profit.
But today, I don't plan to chase higher. My strategy is: start reducing positions around $80,000 in batches. The reason is that the emotional-driven aspect of this rally is too high; emotions come quickly and go just as fast. If the Middle East suddenly announces a ceasefire, Bitcoin's pullback will be just as rapid as the rise.
So today's plan is clear: cut 30% at $80,000, then another 30% at $80,500, leaving 40% as a core position to observe the trend.
I also placed a prediction on Polymarket that "BTC will hit $80,000 today," but with a small position. This prediction is more of a record of my judgment; making money depends on trading, not gambling.
Some say trading requires cold-bloodedness, I disagree. You don't need to be cold-blooded; you need the ability to turn emotions into strategy. See opportunities in panic, recognize risks in frenzy. $BTC
