French Prosecutors Charge 88 Suspects in Crypto-Linked Kidnapping and Extortion Cases
French prosecutors charged 88 people, including 10 minors, in cases tied to kidnappings and extortion attacks targeting cryptocurrency owners. PNACO said the charges span 12 judicial investigations and 75 suspects are in pretrial detention. CertiK said crypto wrench attacks rose 75% in 2025 and caused about $41 million in confirmed losses.
