Odaily Planet Daily News: Last week, two oil tankers connected to Iran that were intercepted by the U.S. military near Sri Lanka are currently sailing westward. The Pentagon stated last week that on April 21 and 23, the U.S. military carried out “maritime interdiction and boarding inspections” on the supertankers “Tifani” and “Phoenix,” but did not specify the subsequent handling arrangements for these two ships. Digital signals from the two tankers show that they are currently traveling west through the Indian Ocean, one after the other. The U.S. has not officially clarified its specific intentions regarding the disposition of these two tankers. They are still transmitting the same destination signals as at the time of interception, which further fuels public confusion about their current whereabouts. (Jin10)
