Hong Kong SFC Committee Says Prediction Market Contracts Are Not Investment Products
Hong Kong’s SFC investor education committee said transactions and contracts in prediction markets are not investment products. The committee said people who trade in these markets do not receive protection under the Securities and Futures Ordinance or rules enforced by the SFC. The committee warned that seeking recourse may be difficult or impossible if problems arise.
