Iranian Speaker Ghalibaf tweeted out a list of the cards Iran and the United States currently have—

Iran's cards are mainly on the supply side: the Strait of Hormuz (partially played) + the Strait of Mandeb (not played yet) + oil pipelines/energy infrastructure (not played yet)
The U.S. cards are mainly on the demand side: strategic reserve releases (played) + demand destruction (partially occurred) + higher oil prices to continue regulation (still to come)
The speaker believes that the U.S. has few cards left on the demand side, and most will backfire on itself, unlike Iran, where blocking the straits is straightforward and blunt.
Iran doesn't necessarily need to win a military war; it just needs to drag the conflict into an oil price war.
Ghalibaf also casually added a subtle hint at the end:
The U.S. is about to enter the summer travel season, when gasoline demand usually increases. Unless the White House dares to tell Americans not to go out and drive this year, and to stay home to save fuel in the energy war.
He's also a seasoned tactician!
