Tillis Backs Warsh for Fed Chair, Removing Final Confirmation Obstacle
Senator Thom Tillis said he will support Kevin Warsh’s confirmation as the next Federal Reserve Chair, removing the last major obstacle to Warsh’s nomination. Tillis had refused for months to advance any Fed nominee while the Justice Department’s criminal investigation into Jerome Powell was ongoing. That investigation appeared to conclude last Friday, clearing the way for President Donald Trump’s chosen successor.
