The National Energy Administration released data on electric vehicle charging infrastructure nationwide as of March 2026. According to data from the National Charging Infrastructure Monitoring Service Platform, by the end of March 2026, the total number of electric vehicle charging points (guns) in China reached 21.48M, a year-on-year increase of 46.9%. Among them, public charging facilities (guns) numbered 4.86M, a year-on-year increase of 28.1%, with the rated total power of public charging piles reaching 234 million kilowatts, and an average power of approximately 48.06 kilowatts; private charging facilities (guns) numbered 16.62M, a year-on-year increase of 53.5%, with the installed electrical capacity of private charging facilities reaching 147 million kilovolt-amperes.
