iQiyi bets on AI to power majority of content within five years, launches Nadou Pro filmmaking suite

Chinese streaming giant iQiyi plans for artificial intelligence to generate the majority of its films and shows within the next five years, aiming to reverse a multi-year revenue slump. The company has launched Nadou Pro, an AI toolkit that covers nearly the entire filmmaking workflow, and intends to reward AI creators with an additional 20% share of advertising and membership revenue to encourage adoption. iQiyi also plans to transform its platform into a social-media-style hub for AI-generated content and expects a commercially successful AI-generated film as early as this summer.
