NextEra Energy Drives US Renewable Power with 40 GW Capacity

NextEra Energy, a major U.S. utility, boasts over 40 GW of generating capacity, with approximately one-third derived from renewable wind and solar sources. The company’s primary electric utility, Florida Power & Light (FPL), serves 6 million accounts and contributed significantly to its $27.4 billion revenue in 2025. Its non-regulated subsidiary, NextEra Energy Resources, is the largest generator of wind and solar power in the U.S. and is expanding its presence across 38 states and four Canadian provinces.
