Hong Kong police have cracked a cross-border scam case, where suspects specifically targeted overseas students, first impersonating law enforcement officers, then forcing victims to buy gold grains as collateral, and finally converting the funds into cryptocurrencies to launder money. This method is not new, but it remains effective, indicating that the combination of offline pressure and on-chain transfers is still difficult to completely block. For ordinary users, anyone urging you to transfer funds immediately, buy gold, or exchange currencies should generally be blocked directly.
