Jin10 Data, April 23 — The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs posted on social media on the 22nd that, given Iran's announcement of partial reopening of its airspace, U.S. citizens in Iran should leave immediately. The post stated that the Bureau of Consular Affairs recommends U.S. citizens pay attention to the latest updates on the situation from local media, and they can also consult commercial airlines for flight information departing from Iran. Additionally, U.S. citizens can travel overland to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Turkmenistan, but should avoid traveling to regions bordering Afghanistan, Iraq, or Pakistan near Iran.
Jin10 Data, April 23 — White House National Economic Council director Hasset in the United States said he supports Federal Reserve Chair Powell’s plan—namely that if Powell’s successor has not been confirmed by the Senate by the time his term ends in May, he will temporarily remain as Federal Reserve Chair. Hasset said on Wednesday, “I think this is an appropriate legal interpretation.” Trump has nominated Wosh to succeed Powell, but Republicans currently do not have enough votes to advance the nomination from the Senate Banking Committee to the Senate for a confirmation vote. Republican Senator Tom Tillis said he will hold off on voting until the Department of Justice stops the so-called “false” investigation into alleged cost overruns for the Federal Reserve building renovation project. When speaking about Wosh, Hasset said, “We are very confident that he will become Chair at the appropriate time. I believe there will be discussions on how to move forward.”
