ME AI News, according to Beating Monitoring, Igor Babuschkin, co-founder of xAI who previously worked at OpenAI and Google DeepMind, announced the founding of a new AI startup River AI, which develops personalized AI agents that can learn from users and be controlled by users to enhance human capabilities rather than replace human jobs.
In addition to Igor Babuschkin, the founding team of River AI also includes several former employees of xAI. Vincent Stark was responsible for xAI product security until December 2025, Lily Lim serves as General Counsel, and brothers Ievgen Soboliev and Dmytro Soboliev were xAI engineers.
River AI will provide API interfaces for third parties to build AI models, helping personalized intelligent agents achieve continuous learning, and plans to extend into hardware and physical infrastructure fields.
Since the merger of xAI with SpaceX, dozens of employees and nearly all co-founders have resigned. Elon Musk promised to rebuild xAI during SpaceX's preparations for an IPO.
Outside of River AI, several former xAI members have also founded new companies, such as Eric Zelikman and Yuchen He co-founding the AI lab Humans&.
