London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) will build a "Digital Securities Custody Platform" to support on-chain settlement of tokenized bonds and stocks, aiming for delivery in 2026. This system is designed to connect traditional securities markets with blockchain technology to improve settlement efficiency. Several major UK financial institutions have expressed support; however, regulatory approval and technical challenges still need to be addressed.
