Ethereum is currently sitting at an important decision zone on the 4-hour timeframe. After the recent market volatility, ETH is showing signs that the next major move could depend heavily on whether buyers can defend the current support structure and reclaim the nearby resistance levels.
On the 4H chart, the key thing to watch is market structure. If ETH continues forming higher lows and buyers successfully push price above the latest lower-high area, it could confirm a bullish continuation setup. A strong 4H candle close above resistance, followed by a successful retest, would provide a much stronger confirmation than a simple intraday breakout.
The bullish scenario is straightforward: ETH holds its major support, buying volume increases, and price breaks above the nearest resistance. In that case, momentum could accelerate toward the next resistance zone. Traders should watch for expanding volume because a breakout without volume can easily turn into a false breakout.
The bearish scenario should not be ignored. If ETH gets rejected from resistance and starts producing lower highs on the 4H chart, sellers could attempt another move toward the previous support area. A decisive 4H close below support would weaken the bullish structure and could open the door to a deeper correction.
For a safer long setup, patience is important. Instead of chasing a green candle, traders can wait for a confirmed breakout and retest. If the retest holds and ETH begins printing bullish candles again, the risk-to-reward structure becomes more attractive.

Breakout confirmation: Strong 4H close above resistance
Retest confirmation: Resistance turning into support
Invalidation: Clean 4H close below the major support zone
ETH remains highly sensitive to Bitcoin's direction and overall crypto market liquidity. Even a technically strong ETH setup can fail if BTC suddenly breaks down, so BTC's 4H structure should be monitored alongside ETH.
My preferred approach is to wait for confirmation rather than predict the exact bottom. If buyers defend support and ETH breaks the 4H resistance with strong volume, the probability of continuation increases. If resistance repeatedly rejects price, risk management becomes more important.
