Bitcoin Breaks Above the $65,000 Mark: Critical Data from the US to Determine Crypto’s Fate

Bitcoin (BTC) moved into investors’ focus by surpassing the $65,000 mark ahead of critical inflation data from the US.

The cryptocurrency market got off to a dynamic start to the week, with leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) rising nearly 3% on a weekly basis to move above $65,000. The easing of concerns over Federal Reserve (Fed) interest rate hikes following the weak employment data released last week created a positive atmosphere in the markets. Now, all eyes are on the July inflation data set to be released on Wednesday.

A similar upward trend is prevailing among other major assets. Ethereum (ETH) is trading around $1,919, while Solana (SOL) has drawn attention with a 5% weekly increase. BNB (BNB) is moving sideways at $603, while XRP (XRP) was the only major asset to diverge negatively, declining 4% weekly. The positive sentiment in global stock markets and the rise in technology companies continue to support cryptocurrencies.

US Inflation Data and Bitcoin Price

Inflation figures, which directly affect consumers’ daily spending and cost of living, are seen as the most important factor determining Bitcoin’s short-term fate. If the inflation data comes in above expectations, this could put pressure on the Bitcoin price by strengthening expectations that interest rates will remain high. In particular, the consumer price index, which reflects price increases on store shelves and rising costs, directly affects investors’ risk appetite.

The Bitcoin ecosystem has also faced some technical challenges over the past ten days. Despite wallet security issues and brief disruptions on the network, the market managed to remain resilient. Although macroeconomic factors such as rising oil prices and the strengthening of the dollar against other currencies are being monitored, the key determining factor for cryptocurrency investors will be the economic data from the US.
