if you’ve seen brand accounts ragebaiting and wondered why it feels off, it’s because they’re using personal account tactics with company level consequences

a personal account can farm outrage, get dragged, gain followers, and move on
a brand account still has to sell a product, earn trust, attract partners, support users, and convince people the team behind it is serious
that’s where the trade-off gets stupid
the post might get replies, quote tweets, and a nice screenshot for the weekly report
but if people are reacting to the bait instead of understanding the product, what exactly did the brand win?
and in the future, a product post, a launch update or a serious announcement might seem like a stunt because they've built that reputation
that is why ragebait from a brand account can be counterproductive
if you're a social media person reading this, please don't let your intrusive thoughts win :3
