Ethereum developers explore new token standards, privacy once again becomes a focus

Abstract generation in progress
CryptoWorld News: Ethereum (ETH) developers are exploring new token standards, and privacy concerns are once again drawing attention. As privacy tools like Tornado Cash face regulatory scrutiny, developers are gradually shifting their focus to new proposals, such as Perc-20, a standard that allows users to hold and transfer tokens without revealing their balances and transaction details. This proposal has sparked discussions about whether public blockchains should default to making all financial interactions transparent. Perc-20 tokens will exist in an encrypted form, similar to digital cash, ensuring transaction privacy while enabling network validation of transaction validity. The proposal also includes compliance mechanisms, allowing issuers to freeze specific tokens via encrypted blacklists without exposing ordinary users' balances or transaction histories. As privacy regains importance within the Ethereum ecosystem, developers are working to build systems that meet privacy needs while adhering to compliance requirements.

Curious about the specific encryption scheme used, is it ZK or FHE?

The balancing beam of privacy and regulation, if walked steadily, is a revolution; if veered off course, it leads to disaster.

Waiting for a testnet experience; no matter how beautiful the theory, you have to see it run.

The fact that balances are not public is too important; now on-chain it's like running naked.
