🔥Claude Fable 5 and the new risks of DeFi

📌Anthropic has just launched Claude Fable 5. This is Anthropic's most powerful model, completely surpassing the rest of the market. Mythos's capabilities are so advanced that security companies are facing unprecedented cybersecurity risks.
📌Benchmark tests the agent-style coding task handling ability, with Fable 5 reaching 80.3%.
- Far surpassing the old model Opus 4.8 at 69.2%
- Currently, competitors GPT-5.5 at 58.6% and Gemini 3.1 Pro at 54.2% are left far behind
📌On FrontierCode Diamond, Fable 5 scores 29.3%: twice as high as Opus 4.8 and six times that of GPT-5.5. This agent not only excels at writing short code snippets but is also extremely powerful at solving long, multi-step problems for large systems.
📌This is a significant advancement for the programming industry, but it also poses enormous risks to cybersecurity and especially DeFi systems:
- DeFi differs from traditional finance in that assets are directly embedded in the code. Smart contracts are public. Protocol logic is open. Cash flows are transparent. Transaction history can be traced. The AI's previous advantages now become potentially catastrophic risks.
- Tasks that previously required skilled auditors, a lot of time, and deep understanding of Solidity, oracles, lending pools, liquidation, bridges, governance… can now be automated.
📌Attackers no longer need to understand the entire stack; agents can replace black-hat hackers in spotting abnormal logic, comparing with old error patterns, or scanning for remaining approve/token allowance permissions.
📌DeFi never operates in isolation. A protocol may depend on multiple oracles, DEXs, bridges, stablecoins, and many external contracts. Therefore, vulnerabilities are sometimes not in a specific line of code but in how protocols connect with each other. The more skilled AI is at reading multi-layered systems, the greater the risk of detection and exploitation.
📌Clearly, if DeFi projects do not invest resources to upgrade outdated security models, many large-scale hacking incidents will occur.
