The World Cup is coming up, and the collaboration between the trading card community and Web3 is pretty interesting. I came across a project called MarketCards—put simply, it takes 1:1 offline exclusive rare star cards and brings them onto the Base chain for tokenization, aiming to benefit from the on-chain real-world asset (RWA) wave. They’ve just raised funding from Web3 institutions and big players in the sports industry, so their backing is fairly strong. They’re currently working on the first MintBox for rare World Cup trading cards.
