Being completely loved by parents is a child's greatest wealth. Someone who is fully loved by their mother will always have a sense of victory throughout their life, and this feeling is what we often call confidence. But do you, as a parent, truly love your child completely? Or do you love him, but love the one who scores full marks, the obedient one, the one who makes you proud? When he dawdles, talks back, makes mistakes, or performs just so-so, does the light in your eyes fade? Replaced by disdain, nitpicking, or anxiety over not being able to meet expectations.
Today’s children are not lacking in food and clothing; what they lack is being seen and fully loved. Not spoiled, but accepted—whether he is an inconspicuous little grass or a towering tree, you can still squat down and happily admire his greenery. This kind of love is a child's bulletproof vest. The outside world is cold; society may hit him hard, others will weigh pros and cons for him. If at home even the parents are using a magnifying glass to find his flaws, then behind him lies an abyss. Conversely, if he knows that no matter what he encounters outside, his parents always think he is great, he will have the courage to venture out, the bravery to lose, and the ability to win.
At this age, you need to live more transparently. Don’t always try to sculpt your child into the shape you want—that’s your obsession, not his blessing. Try to relax your furrowed brow and close your picky mouth. Discover the shining points in his personality, affirm every small effort he makes. True nurturing is not just about how much money you leave him, but about giving him a card that always greets him with a smile. When your eyes are full of love, the child will naturally have light in his eyes and a path beneath his feet. This confidence from being loved can support him through all the ups and downs of life.
