#ShareWeekly #WarshIMFSpeech Warsh said nothing, and the market loved it: what Bangkok really told us about rates and BTC
Sometimes the loudest message from a central banker is the one he refuses to send. In Bangkok, Fed Chair Kevin Warsh sat down with IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva and gave traders no hint about the next rate move. The result was a relief bounce across dollars, stocks and crypto. Here is my read on the two questions everyone is asking.
Hawkish or dovish? Neither, and that is the story
Warsh stuck to price stability and refused to prejudge upcoming meetings. He also skipped fo

#ShareWeekly #WarshIMFSpeech Warsh at the IMF: why the Bangkok remarks matter for rate hikes and for BTC
Fed Chair Kevin Warsh joined IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva for a fireside chat at the IMF-World Bank meetings in Bangkok, and the two questions in this topic are the right ones. Is the tone hawkish or dovish, and what does it mean for Bitcoin? Here are the answers, backed by the numbers that moved after he spoke.
Tone: neutral on the surface, hawkish underneath
Warsh did not choose a side. He reiterated the Fed's commitment to price stability while refusing to prejudge upcoming policy meetings. He also avoided forward guidance and pointed to a synchronous tightening by central banks worldwide, which frames inflation as a global problem, not only an American one. On growth, he described a surge in investment as the primary upside force in the global economy. That sounds constructive, but it also gives policymakers room to keep rates elevated if prices stay stubborn.
The context explains why silence was read as relief. September CPI rose 3.7% against 3.6% expected, and producer prices rose 1.3% on the month and 6.3% on the year, with energy up 10.8%. Core PPI jumped 0.7% against a 0.3% forecast. With data that hot, any hawkish hint could have hit markets hard. No hint came. One analysis summed it up this way: markets interpreted the absence of hawkish warnings as relief rather than an outright dovish turn.
Can the Fed hike again in October
Yes, but the market now rates it as unlikely. The implied probability of a hike in two weeks fell from around 27% to 15% after the remarks, according to the Financial Times. Rate futures showed a similar picture at 14.9%, down from 28%. The case for another hike has not disappeared, though. New York Fed President John Williams has said one more hike this year is appropriate, and the next policy meeting is October 27-28. The decisive inputs between now and then are the next inflation prints, energy prices and any shift in Fed speakers' language. Another hot reading would likely push odds back up quickly.
How the other markets reacted
The cross-asset response was consistent with softer hike fears:
- Dollar: the US Dollar Index hit a fresh 10-day low near 101.80. The euro rose and the Australian dollar moved toward 0.6950.
- Bonds: the 10-year Treasury yield held near 5.08%.
- US stocks: S&P 500 futures traded near 7,800 and Nasdaq 100 futures near 30,150.
- Korea: the KOSPI, which crashed 7.57% on Thursday, rose 2.05% to close at 5,668.05, its first higher close in eight sessions.
- Gold: it plunged toward $4,073 on bets of more hikes before recovering as yields and the dollar reversed.
What it means for BTC
The impact was a relief bounce, not a regime change. Bitcoin jumped more than 2% over 24 hours to trade near $82,300, and it is around $81,650 now. The reason is mechanical: a weaker dollar and calmer rate expectations ease pressure on risk assets. The contrast with August is useful. When Warsh delivered a clearly hawkish message at Jackson Hole, Bitcoin dropped below $77,000. This time the tone was neutral, and the market responded the other way.
Even so, the relief has limits. One analysis called the effect on Bitcoin mixed, with high rates possibly lingering. Bitcoin is also still recovering from this week's flush, when it dipped below $80,000 and liquidations approached $1 billion.
Key BTC levels:
- Support: the 50-day EMA at $80,443, then the 100-day EMA at $76,824 and the 200-day EMA at $75,751.
- Resistance: a daily close above $82,538 would strengthen the recovery toward $84,049 to $84,250.
- Risk line: a close below $80,443 would put $80,206 and the recent low near $79,694 back in play.
Scenarios into the Fed meeting
Rally case: inflation data cools or hike odds fall further, and BTC clears $82,538 toward $84,250. Range case: no new catalyst, and BTC trades between $80,400 and $83,000. Pullback case: hot data revives hike odds above 30%, the dollar firms and BTC retests $80,000.
My view:
Warsh did not give guidance, so the market is trading its own expectations. The balance of evidence favors a modest relief move, with the Fed meeting and the next inflation reports as the real tests. I would keep leverage low, respect $80,000 as the key level, and treat any rally as conditional on the data.

Gate BTC and ETH Futures Trading Volume: Can the Momentum Continue?
In my view, the momentum Gate is seeing in the derivatives market could persist; however, sustainable growth depends on whether this increased trading activity is driven by lasting demand rather than mere short-term speculation.
The reported figures are encouraging: with BTC and ETH in an uptrend, Gate ranks among the top three exchanges globally for futures trading volume in both assets, with BTC futures volume reaching approximately $7.18 billion over a 24-hour period.

BTC down 0.62% in 24 hours, $31.89 million dumped in the final hour
Gate spot BTC/USDT is currently quoted at 81285.5 USDT, down 0.62% over 24 hours, with a high of 81818.4 and a low of 80817.0. That 0.62% is almost negligible on the daily chart, but the final hourly candle was different: it opened at 81647.1, plunged to a low of 80817.0, and closed at 81124.9, with 31.89 million USDT in single-hour trading volume—more than three times the previous hour’s roughly 8.71 million.
What concerns me more is whether this drop was backed by volume. Looking at the latest 48 hourly candles, the volume p

The Nasdaq has started a correction. A weekly bearish divergence is a correction signal, and this correction could be somewhat stronger. It is a multi-timeframe confluence signal, with support at 25,600-24,300-23,800
The question to consider here is: will a U.S. stock market correction spill over to other assets? ❓️
U.S. Treasury yields: The 10-year yield is around 5.09–5.10%, near its highest levels in recent years, putting sustained pressure on high-valuation, long-duration risk assets (tech stocks and crypto)
U.S. Dollar Index: Around 101.8, neutral to firm, with no extreme appreciation

#日韩股集体大跌
KOSPI +3.3%: A relief bounce or the start of a recovery?
My initial assessment: This appears to be a potential relief rally; however, a single strong session is not enough to confirm a broader recovery. The key question is whether semiconductor stocks can sustain this rebound following the sharp sell-off, or if the gains are merely driven by short covering and bargain hunting.
The gains seen in Samsung Electronics (+3.6%) and SK Hynix (+3.4%) are particularly significant, as the South Korean market is highly sensitive to semiconductor sentiment and the global AI-memory trade.

What is driving the recovery?
1. The sell-off may have overshot the fundamentals
On October 15, the KOSPI fell by 7.57%, closing at a six-month low following seven consecutive days of losses. During this sell-off, Samsung and SK Hynix lost 23.9% and 31.5% of their value, respectively—creating an opening for bargain hunters to return.
2. Memory chip fundamentals remain supportive
Analysts continue to highlight tight memory supply, robust demand related to artificial intelligence, and expectations for rising DRAM prices. This supports the view that the sell-off was driven more by sentiment and positioning than by a collapse in earnings expectations.
3. Global risk appetite has improved
A recovery in U.S. equities, combined with easing concerns regarding AI-related credit risks, has helped fuel a rebound in Asian technology stocks. However, concerns regarding returns on investment in artificial intelligence, financing costs, and interest rates have not dissipated.
A relief rally or a sustainable recovery?
Bullish scenario — a lasting recovery
* The KOSPI remains above its recent low.
* Samsung and SK Hynix continue their recovery.
* Foreign investors return as net buyers.
* Earnings forecasts and expectations for memory chip prices remain robust.
Bearish scenario — a short-lived rebound
* The index rises toward a resistance level and then reverses.
* Foreign investors continue to sell Korean stocks.
* U.S. bond yields rise, or renewed concerns regarding AI valuations weigh on chip stocks.
* Samsung and SK Hynix fall back below their recovery levels.
What should investors watch for next?
The most critical indicator is not the magnitude of the initial rebound, but whether buying pressure is sustained.
Indicator Bullish interpretation
Foreign investor flows Consistent net buying
Samsung and SK Hynix Gains sustained over several sessions
Memory chip pricing Continued strength in DRAM and HBM
U.S. Treasury yields Stabilization or decline
Earnings expectations Maintenance of upward revisions
A key distinction: On October 16, the KOSPI recorded an intraday gain of up to 3.17%, but closed the day up 2.05% at 5,668.05. Consequently, the sharp intraday rally made the final gain at the close appear more significant than it actually was.
My View
Short-term: Cautiously optimistic
A recovery is possible.
Oversold conditions and attractive entry points could support further gains, though volatility is likely to remain high.
Medium-term: Conditional
Not yet confirmed.
A more substantial recovery would require the stabilization of foreign investor inflows, supportive earnings data, and a more durable improvement in sentiment toward the global technology market.
In summary: I view the 3.3% move not as proof that the downtrend has ended, but as a promising first step. Earnings expectations for the semiconductor sector provide a firmer foundation for this recovery—moving it beyond a mere technical rebound—but the market must demonstrate that buyers are willing to hold their positions, even amidst renewed volatility.
A key factor to watch in the near term will be the earnings outlooks from SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics, set to be released on October 28 and October 29, respectively. These reports could prove decisive in determining whether the recent sell-off was an overreaction or if it reflects a more fundamental reassessment of the AI-driven memory market.

Prediction came true! ETH short perfectly executed📉
Yesterday’s public strategy: go short above 2430, with a target near 2375.

Yang Guang bit | October 17 $ETH — Rejected at rebound highs and pulled back; favor selling rallies amid surging oil prices
【Today’s Strategy】
Entry: Set up short positions on a rebound to the 2430—2445 range
Stop-loss: Above 2465
Take-profit targets:
First target: 2400—2410
Second target: 2375—2385
【Key Takeaways】
ETH rebounded with the broader market to 2493.48 last night before coming under pressure and pulling back; it is currently trading around 2417. On the 4-hour chart, price is below all moving averages, which are fully bearishly aligned, and the weak structure remains unchanged. On the news front, Trump said he may strike Iranian nuclear facilities, while the US and Israel are reportedly discussing strike plans in secret; Brent crude surged to $110, stoking safe-haven sentiment. Fed Chair Warsh said he would not prejudge the rate decision, and expectations of an October rate hike fell below 15%, but the 10-year Treasury yield climbed back above 5.12%. On-chain, Bitcoin ETFs saw net outflows of more than 3100 BTC on CPI day, as institutional investors remained cautious. Weekend liquidity is thin; the intraday strategy is to favor selling rallies and take light short-term longs at support. Don’t chase one-way moves; stick with the trend throughout. A trend-driven collapse or sharp plunge is not expected. $ETH ‌#比特币短线站上8.2万美元
