The facts on my screen
Price: 82,681. The daily high was 87,401, so we’re down about 5.4% from the top
The 24h low is 80,397, which is about 8% below the high. That’s a bit under the 81K everybody quotes, so the dip was a little deeper than the headline says

Yesterday saw a rapid plunge and massive liquidation of longs, followed by a sharp recovery of lost ground. It was clearly a back-and-forth wipeout of both longs and shorts. If U.S. stocks do not continue rising after opening tonight, the market is highly likely to trade sideways going forward. Do not chase the highs.
