First gavel falls, rates stay put. Kevin Warsh led his first Fed meeting June 17, and left rates at 3.5% to 3.75%.
Inflation had just hit a three-year high, so a hold was widely expected. The Fed said risks remain high, with oil shocks and war in the Middle East clouding the view. Warsh dropped old forward guidance and said policy will follow fresh data, meeting by meeting.
The tone was hawkish. Nine of 18 Fed officials now see at least one hike before year-end 2026, a clear turn from March when cuts were still on the table. Big banks now look for hikes in Sep, Oct and Dec.
Markets felt it fast. Bitcoin slid, US stocks fell, gold dropped too. Yields rose as traders priced out cuts for 2026.
Warsh said he will keep the best of Fed tradition while pushing for reform and clear talk. President Trump said he backs Warsh, after years of fights with the prior chair.
For traders on Gate:

Looking at the numbers, Norway sits as the favorite which feels right. Their attack looks potent with a world class forward who can change games on his own. The midfield control should allow them to dictate the tempo and create opportunities consistently.
Senegal brings athleticism and a direct style that can trouble teams, especially on the counter. However, I believe Norway's structure and ability to hold possession will limit those threats. Set pieces might also play a big role here as Norway has height and delivery quality.
Form wise, Norway appears to be building nicely while Senegal has shown they can be inconsistent against organized sides. A low scoring affair seems probable but I expect the stronger attacking unit to edge it.
My forecast is a 2-1 win for Norway. The draw remains a live option if Senegal frustrates them but I see more value in backing the win.

That is why the 4h is still bullish. • 15-min: The warning light. The close slipped below the 15-min MA20 at $6.7540. That is short-term weakness, a cool-off, not a trend break.
In other words: the big picture buyers are still in control, the scalpers just took a breather.
Why GT looks strong here 1. Volume and OI are expanding, not fading. 24h spot volume is 56.82K GT / $383.35K turnover, and contract open interest is up 11.36%. Price up + OI up = new money coming in, not just shorts covering. 2. Higher lows are holding. After the May 29 spike to $7.55 and the flush to $5.97, GT has put in a clean series of higher lows. The last dip on June 20 held well above $6.40, and buyers stepped back in immediately. 3. Exchange token beta. GT is ranked No.2 Exchange Token on Gate. At $6.74 it is still sitting well below that $7.17 average price tag marked on your chart, with the $7.55 swing high still open above. Levels to watch for GT • Reclaim trigger: $6.754 - $6.76
That is the 15-min MA20 / 4h MA5 confluence. A reclaim and hold here kills the short-term weakness and opens a retest of the range high at $6.86. • Range defense: $6.65
The 24h low. Lose that and the next intraday support is the 4h MA30 at $6.67 / $6.60 area. • Breakout zone: $6.86 - $7.17
A clean break of $6.86 puts the $7.17 avg price back in play, then the $7.55 top.
GT is outperforming BTC, OI is building, and the 4h trend is still bullish. The only blemish is that 15-min MA slip. If bulls take back $6.75 quickly, this tight $6.65-$6.86 coil pops to the upside. Lose $6.65 and expect a deeper cool-off.

🔹 Taiwan's market capitalization climbed to $4.95 trillion on Monday, edging past India's $4.92 trillion, according to Bloomberg data. The TAIEX benchmark index has rocketed roughly 50% so far in 2026, the strongest performance among major global indices, fueled by an AI-driven technology rally that shows no signs of cooling .
🔹 At the center of this ascent stands a single titan: TSMC now accounts for more than 42% of Taiwan's entire benchmark index. The world's largest contract chipmaker has surged nearly 49% year-to-date, and its market cap alone — roughly $2 trillion — is responsible for over half of Taiwan's total market value increase since the start of 2025 . New regulations from Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission last month raised the single-stock investment cap for domestic funds to 25%, a move JPMorgan expects will attract over $6 billion in fresh inflows — with TSMC as the primary beneficiary .

CFTC data shows non-commercial net long positions tumbled from 171,600 contracts to 159,800 as large speculators cashed out. The 20-day EMA near $4,586 now acts as a hard ceiling, with the RSI wallowing near 39 and pointing lower. The dollar flexing above 106.5 has made gold more expensive for global buyers, while hawkish Fed chatter has shrunk rate-cut bets to zero — raising the opportunity cost of holding a non-yielding asset with every passing session. Goldman captured the near-term risk with precision: gold is "a natural source of cash if private investors face liquidity needs" during equity stress.
🔹 Beneath the paper sell-off, physical demand is rewriting the rules of the gold market. Central banks absorbed 244 tonnes in Q1 2026 — a 17% quarterly surge that places sovereign buying within striking distance of the 350-tonne threshold above which gold prices have historically risen. Goldman Sachs just revised its nowcast of monthly central bank purchases from 29 tonnes to 50 tonnes in March, then guided to 60 tonnes per month through year-end — citing "strong underlying interest in gold" and geopolitical developments that "are likely to reinforce diversification over time". 🔹 The East is absorbing physical metal at a velocity the West has not yet priced in. Chinese investors purchased a record 207 tonnes of gold bars and coins during Q1 2026 — up 67% year-over-year and smashing the previous quarterly record of 155 tonnes set in 2013. Bar and coin demand globally jumped 42% to 474 tonnes, one of the strongest physical buying quarters ever recorded. Gold ETF flows in Asia extended their inflow streak to eight consecutive months, adding another $1.8 billion in April alone, while Hong Kong funds posted a record $732 million monthly inflow. The West may be selling paper gold — the East is buying vaults.
🔹 COMEX inventories are quietly tightening. Registered inventory sits at approximately 15.7 million ounces — a level that has drawn consistent attention throughout May. The structural imbalance between paper claims and physical metal has been building for months, and a June contract with 26.2 million ounces in potential delivery exposure continues to test the system. When the paper-to-physical ratio widens this far, the eventual reconciliation rarely happens gently.
🔹 Tokenized gold has crossed a structural inflection point that decouples it from crypto sentiment. Q1 2026 spot trading volume across PAXG, XAUt, and other gold-backed tokens reached $90.7 billion — exceeding the entire 2025 full-year total of $84.6 billion. Average monthly spot volume hit $11.69 billion, with PAXG and XAUt commanding nearly $6 billion each per month. PAXG alone was ranking fourth by daily trading volume on major exchanges at approximately $868 million — outpacing Solana over that period.
