Bitcoin ETF large fund outflow
The launch of 11 spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States has caused great excitement among investors. In January, many investors shifted from Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) to funds such as BlackRock's IBIT and Fidelity's FBTC. However, this activity quickly came to an end, and a decline began in February.
February was the worst month for Bitcoin ETFs so far. There were only 4 days of net inflows, which were the 5th, 7th, and 14th. A large-scale withdrawal of $364 million occurred on February 20th. Even the world's largest BTC ETF, IBIT, experienced a net outflow of $112 million. Since February 6th, the total withdrawal amount has reached $1.1 billion, marking the worst monthly performance record since the ETF was launched.
Investor sentiment declined in February
The declining interest in Bitcoin ETF indicates that investors are starting to avoid risks and treat price fluctuations more cautiously. February, usually seen as a strong month, did not meet expectations this time. Continuous redemptions of ETFs also put pressure on the Bitcoin price, and investors' sensitivity is gradually weakening.
With the increase in capital outflows, the market liquidity decreases, and institutional investors' interest in crypto assets is also declining. If this trend continues, the BTC price may face more selling pressure in the future.
The latest situation of Ethereum ETF
The Ethereum ETF performed better than the Bitcoin ETF. Although there was a net inflow of 307.8 million US dollars in early February, investment declined in the following days. However, redemptions of Ethereum funds were relatively limited compared to Bitcoin.
Last week, after four days of net inflows, the Ethereum Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) ended this week with net outflows of $13 million and $8.9 million. Although Ethereum ETFs are still more resilient than Bitcoin, fluctuations in investor interest have increased market uncertainty. If ETF inflows do not increase further, Ethereum may face greater pressure like Bitcoin.()#Sonic (S) Price and Ecosystem Growth#
