Solana DEX Volume Topped Ethereum For 5 Days As Pump.fun Fees Hit $8.2 Million
Solana turned the chain into a 24 hour bazaar and volume proved it. For five straight days this week, Solana DEX volume topped Ethereum mainnet with $4.6 billion daily vs $3.1 billion, driven by Pump.fun and Jupiter. Pump.fun alone did $1.9 billion swaps and $8.2 million fees in seven days after its new creator fee share went live. $bonk and $WIF pairs added $420 million daily.
The trigger was simple economics. Pump.fun now gives 50% of swap fees to token creators, so 14k new creators launched tokens this week versus 6k last week. One meme token, $FARTCOIN 2.0, paid its creator $180k in 48 hours, so more teams bridged over. Jupiter routing improved price by 12 bps vs direct Raydium, so arb bots poured in with $2.1 billion of bot flow.
SOL price rose 9.2% to $188 while fees stayed at $0.002 median. Stablecoin supply on Solana hit $5.8 billion, up $620 million this week, mostly USDC from Circle mint. TVL rose $1.1 billion to $8.9 billion. Perp open interest on SOL jumped $420 million, funding at 0.012% per 8h, so longs paid but not crazy.
Risk is bot wash. Over 40% of DEX volume was flagged as same wallet back and forth for fee farming on a new aggregator, so real user volume may be lower. Also Pump.fun token fall rate is 98% in first week.
Still, when a chain does more spot than ETH for five days with sub cent fees, trader flow follows.
