Ethereum at 1,758 Dollars: Are Institutions Buying the Bottom?
Ethereum is trading at 1,758.23 dollars as of July 4, 2026. It is up 0.85 percent on the day and 10.35 percent over the last week. The bounce comes after a brutal June low near 1,450 to 1,500 dollars.
Market Snapshot
Market cap sits at 191.93 billion dollars. 24 hour volume is 10.27 billion dollars. Circulating supply is 120.68 million ETH. There is no max supply.
Price is above all short term moving averages. The 7 day MA is 1,734.94, the 25 day is 1,712.65, and the 99 day is 1,628.19. Structure is improving.
Institutions Are Accumulating
July 1 marked the launch of Ethereum Institutional, a nonprofit backed by Joseph Lubin, BitMine, and SharpLink. Goal is simple: drive institutional adoption.
On July 2, Anchorage Digital enabled Lido staking rewards inside regulated custody. Institutions can now earn yield on wstETH without moving assets. That removes a major barrier.
Since June, corporate treasuries have acquired roughly 3.8 percent of circulating ETH supply. BitMine alone holds 4.07 million ETH. This is MicroStrategy style accumulation, but for ETH.
Technical Levels
Resistance sits at 1,750 to 1,865 dollars. A close above the 50 day EMA would be the strongest signal of a sustained recovery.
Support is 1,600 to 1,650. Critical support is 1,500. If that fails, 1,400 is the downside risk.
The Macro Backdrop Is Ugly
ETH closed Q4 2025 down 28.28 percent, Q1 2026 down 29.26 percent, and Q2 2026 down 24.77 percent. That is the first run of three consecutive red quarters since 2016.
On chain data is mixed. Active addresses fell roughly 46 percent from their February peak even as whale accumulation increased. Divergence like this is historically unreliable as a standalone buy signal.
Bottom Line
Institutional demand is clearly rising. Staking, custody, treasury buys. But price has not cleared 1,865 resistance yet. Without a high volume close above 1,750, calling a full reversal is early.
A daily close below 1,600 breaks momentum. Then 1,500 gets tested.
For now the structure is recovering but not confirmed. If institutional buying continues through Q3, this quarter looks different.
