I just tried transferring 4000 USDT via ERC20 to Zhima, and the transaction fee is even cheaper than TRC20. It seems that using TRC20 for security reasons in the past wasn't really necessary. For some retail investors, hundreds or thousands of USDT don't need to use TRC20; transferring on the Ethereum or even the XPL chain can save a bit on fees. After all, retail investors don't have large amounts of capital.
