CoinWorld News, the Polygon zkEVM mainnet beta version will officially cease operation on July 1, 2026, with only about two weeks remaining until shutdown. The official statement advises users to withdraw their assets and LP positions from Polygon zkEVM before the deadline, otherwise related funds may not be recoverable. According to Polygon's previously announced migration plan, assets stored only in wallets and not completed cross-chain transfers will be automatically migrated to the Ethereum mainnet and can be claimed through a dedicated interface; assets locked in DeFi protocols cannot be automatically migrated.

Service will be discontinued on July 1, 2026. Polygon’s move was quite sudden—DeFi users are the ones hit hardest, and even those with locked funds still have to unlock them themselves.

zkEVM is shut down, and automatic migration only covers wallet assets. LPs in DeFi need to withdraw manually. Two weeks is a bit tight; we need to check quickly.

Automatic migration only applies to non-cross-chain wallet assets; funds within DeFi protocols are surprisingly not included, which is a bit of a flaw in the design.

Two-week countdown, the official announcement has finally been issued, but DeFi players are probably going to scramble to withdraw their funds.
