Pi Network Launchpad update on the participation of Token Test SLICE before Pi2Day 2026
Pi Network has introduced an updated participation process for its Launchpad platform after gathering feedback from the first Testnet token trial. The latest changes aim to simplify the user experience while improving fairness in token distribution across the ecosystem.
The centerpiece of the update is SLICE, a new Testnet token linked to the Slice of Pi app. This token is now available for testing and will remain active until Pi2Day on June 28, 2026. Through this initiative, Pi Network hopes to collect additional community feedback while refining the token issuance mechanism ahead of future ecosystem developments.
This update comes after the platform's first Launchpad test attracted over 478,000 participants, demonstrating strong community interest in Pi Network’s expanding ecosystem.
Participation process in Launchpad becomes simpler
According to Pi Network, the Launchpad structure has been revised mainly to focus on the amount of committed Test-Pi, making participation easier and more transparent for users. The previous testing phase provided valuable feedback, prompting developers to streamline the process and reduce unnecessary complexity.
Under the updated model, participants select the amount of Test-Pi they wish to commit to receive Testnet tokens. The system then automatically calculates additional requirements, creating a more straightforward participation experience.
As a result, Pi Network aims to improve accessibility for users while maintaining fair distribution mechanisms within the testing environment.
SLICE Token testing continues until Pi2Day
The newly launched SLICE token is the second major token test within the Pi Launchpad ecosystem. Unlike assets on the mainnet, SLICE exists only on Testnet and does not hold real monetary value.
Instead, the project is designed to help developers evaluate token issuance mechanisms, user interaction systems, and ecosystem interactions before broader deployment. Participants can interact with the Slice of Pi app and provide feedback that could help shape future Launchpad improvements.
By conducting these tests in a controlled environment, Pi Network seeks to identify potential issues and optimize user experience before introducing similar features on a larger scale.
Fair access mechanism to improve distribution
One of the key features of the updated Launchpad system is the fair access mechanism, intended to encourage broader participation and prevent excessive concentration among larger participants.
This model introduces an additional holding requirement proportional to the amount of commitment. Advocates believe this can help create a more balanced distribution process while minimizing the influence of participants trying to dominate token allocation.
Therefore, smaller participants may have more opportunities to engage in ecosystem testing activities, contributing to a more comprehensive testing environment.
Pi Network continues to build utility within its ecosystem
The Launchpad updates represent another step forward in expanding utility within the Pi Network ecosystem. Since entering the Open Mainnet phase, the project has continued deploying new features, protocol upgrades, and experimental application initiatives to support long-term growth.
Recent developments include smart contract functionality, expanded ecosystem applications, and ongoing infrastructure improvements to enhance network capabilities. The Launchpad initiative plays a vital role in this strategy by allowing developers and community members to test new token models before future deployment.
Supporters see these testing phases as essential for creating a stronger, more sustainable ecosystem over time.
Mainnet development continues alongside Testnet experiments
While the SLICE token remains a Testnet asset, Pi Network’s main blockchain continues operating under the Open Mainnet framework. The network has gradually expanded its functionality through protocol upgrades and ecosystem development initiatives, encouraging user migration and participation.
Meanwhile, Testnet programs like Launchpad provide valuable opportunities to experiment with new ideas without impacting mainnet operations. This approach allows developers to gather real feedback while minimizing risks to the broader ecosystem.
As Pi2Day approaches, community members are expected to closely monitor engagement levels and feedback around the SLICE token test. The results could influence future Launchpad versions and impact how Pi Network approaches token issuance and ecosystem development moving forward.
