⏳ In 2013, a supposed time traveler claimed that Bitcoin holders would be hunted, kidnapped, and forced to live in secure citadels… and some of his predictions now seem strangely familiar.

The story begins on August 30, 2013, on Reddit, when a user claiming to be a traveler from the year 2025 posts an alarming message while Bitcoin is worth barely $135.
At the time, cryptocurrency remains a marginal phenomenon known mainly to tech enthusiasts. Yet, this stranger describes a future in which Bitcoin has become so important that it profoundly disrupts society.
“I am sending this message from the year 2025. Things look dark here, and some of you will have blood on your hands.”
According to him, criminal groups and terrorists target wealthy Bitcoin holders, while governments themselves discreetly accumulate Bitcoin reserves.
The most striking part concerns physical attacks. The traveler claims that in 2025, many Bitcoin holders are kidnapped, tortured, or forced to reveal their passwords.
“Many people have been taken hostage, and it is suspected that 25% of the ‘Bitcoin-rich’ have actually physically tortured someone to make them disclose their password.”
More than ten years later, this idea seems much less far-fetched than it did at the time...
France leads, followed by the United States and several other countries that have already experienced cases of kidnapping, extortion, mutilation, and even homicide targeting crypto investors...
Of course, we are far from the apocalyptic scenario described on Reddit, but the rise in assaults against crypto holders today gives this message a particular resonance.
The mysterious author also mentioned the emergence of “Citadels,” ultra-secure private cities reserved for early Bitcoin holders and the wealthy.
According to him, these closed communities would be protected by armed guards and largely automated.
To my knowledge, these citadels do not yet exist, but what is certain is that BTC holders are now taking significant measures to protect themselves and their families from these attacks.
