🔴U.S.–Iran: Closest to an agreement ever before

This morning, Mehr announced 14 terms believed to be part of the U.S.–Iran agreement, including:
- Comprehensive ceasefire
- The U.S. withdraws forces from the area, reopens Hormuz within 30 days
- The U.S. disburses $24B and supports Iran’s reconstruction with at least $300 billion.
-> Trump immediately rejected, saying the terms Iran proposed are not related to the document that has been agreed upon in writing.
JD Vance also confirmed that Iran’s frozen assets will not be disbursed immediately upon signing the agreement.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi later said the agreement is “closer than ever,” but advised the media to stop speculating about the content until the document is finalized.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also confirmed that a final peace document has been agreed upon and Pakistan is coordinating with both sides to complete the next steps.
CBS previously reported that the agreement could be signed next week, on the sidelines of the G7.
Oil fell about 2%, to around $84, after positive negotiation signals.
