AIMPACT News, May 18 (UTC+8), Mistral co-founder and CEO Arthur Mensch issued a warning about Europe's reliance on cybersecurity, stating that France should not allow U.S. AI models to scan the country's military code repositories. He emphasized that modern AI can not only coordinate attacks but also suggest methods for exploiting vulnerabilities, including Mistral's own models. Recently, Anthropic launched a military code scanning service called Mythos, raising data security concerns. Mensch explicitly ruled out the possibility of selling the company, stating that Mistral is seeking an IPO. As one of Europe's most valuable AI startups, Mistral is valued at over 6 billion euros and is dedicated to developing open-source large language models. Analysts believe this warning reflects Europe's deep concerns about technological sovereignty and data security.
