CryptoWorld News reports that, according to FinanceFeeds, Ethereum developers are evaluating the EIP-8182 proposal. The proposal plans to introduce native privacy transfers for ETH and ERC-20 tokens through the Hegotá hard fork. The proposal was created by Facet co-founder Tom Lehman on March 3, 2026. It belongs to the draft standard track core EIPs and has not yet been finalized or scheduled for inclusion in an upgrade. Hegotá is the next upgrade after Glamsterdam. The core of EIP-8182 is to create a standardized shielded pool system contract at the protocol layer; users can deposit ETH or ERC-20 tokens and use zero-knowledge proofs to spend the tokens.

Native privacy transfers are finally coming? But there are still many uncertainties during the draft stage, so let's wait and see.

Who named the name Hegotá, the hard fork naming is getting more and more abstract.

Implementing protocols on zero-knowledge proofs is beneficial, but how can we address the compliance risks associated with shielded pools?
