Many new investors may ultimately never understand how they lost money, and this can't be blamed solely on the big players. The fundamental issue still lies with the investors themselves, mainly a problem with their values. Whenever you have an unexamined desire to appear strong or envy wealth, you will be exploited.

This also relates to the societal values as a whole, and sometimes I feel sad for such a nation. In a society that pursues official careers and material wealth creation, personal value becomes stratified. Once social class and symbols of wealth are linked, it’s hard not to be swept along by this social trend, pushed forward.
This is not a matter of individual intelligence or ability, so the smarter ones may end up mimicking the big players and become the next generation of big investors, but they are still just investors. The less clever ones are almost always eliminated by this market, going elsewhere to be exploited again, never understanding why they keep ending up as victims.
