The day after ETH liquidation, after seeing these bits of news, my mindset got even more complicated.

——————

The long position at 1625 was just liquidated yesterday—100x leverage, 7 ETH—wiped out in 4 hours.

Today, I scrolled through the news, and a string of bullish headlines hit me—I just froze:

1. Institutions are still buying
Tom Lee’s BitMine bought another $213 million worth of ETH, bringing its holdings to $9.3 billion, accounting for 4.59% of circulating supply. The key point is that he’s currently showing an unrealized loss of over $10 billion, yet he’s still adding.

What does that mean? Losing $10 billion and still not selling—still buying.

2. ZK-EVM is coming
V神 said at the Hong Kong Web3 Carnival that the 2026 goal for ZK-EVM is “sufficiently secure,” and around 2028 it will become the main method for verification chains. ConsenSys CEO Lubin also weighed in, saying that within 3-5 years, Ethereum will become a protocol completely based on ZK proofs.

Performance, privacy, and quantum resistance—these aren’t just fantasies. There’s a timeline.

3. One key on-chain metric
Glassnode data shows that right now, only 11% of ETH are in “more than 3x profit” status, the lowest since February 2017.

So what does that mean? Most people aren’t making money, which means selling pressure is lower.

Honestly

When I got liquidated, I thought ETH was finished. But seeing this—institutions losing $10 billion and still buying, V神 pushing ZK-EVM, and on-chain profitable positions at the lowest level on record—if you say it’s not promising, it feels like there’s still something there.

My move:
For now, I won’t touch derivatives. I’ll buy a little spot and hold it, waiting for the next hard fork.
