DeepSeek Founder Liang Wenfeng’s Old College Entrance Exam Photo Archaeology: Reportedly Admitted to Zhejiang University in Ultra-Clear Quality
According to Beating Monitoring, social media exposed a 2002 college entrance examination top-scorer photo of Liang Wenfeng, the founder of Fantom Quantitative and DeepSeek, along with related newspaper reports. The report says that in that year, Liang Wenfeng scored 806 points to become the top scorer in the college entrance examination in Zhanjiang, and with his score reaching the admission cutoff line of Tsinghua University, he chose to apply for the Electronic Information Engineering major at Zhejiang University as his first preference.
Liang Wenfeng was born into a teachers’ family, and during high school he attended Wuchuan No. 1 High School. According to newspaper reports at the time titled “Top Scorer in the College Entrance Examination,” Liang Wenfeng’s science performance was outstanding during high school. With key cultivation by his physics and chemistry teachers, his grades rose from being in the top 100 in his grade in the first year of high school to the top 10, and throughout his third year of high school he remained among the top 3 in his grade. He began studying computers as early as middle school and often performed volunteer repairs of the school’s computer equipment.
When filling out his college entrance exam preferences, Liang Wenfeng’s score had already reached Tsinghua University’s admission cutoff line, but in the end he chose the Electronic Information Engineering major at Zhejiang University as his first preference. The report states that at that time, Zhejiang University’s overall strength ranked third nationwide, and Electronic Information Engineering was also his ideal major.
