According to The New York Times, Canadian man Trenton Johnston was pulled over in Miami, USA, for speeding in a Rolls-Royce and was linked to a cryptocurrency scam and money laundering case. U.S. prosecutors stated that Johnston impersonated representatives of Google and a crypto company to gain access to victims' accounts, stealing approximately $13 million over two years to fund a luxurious lifestyle including nightclub outings, jewelry, luxury cars, and private jets. Johnston, 20 years old, has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering in Miami federal court. Court documents show he had previously tricked a California resident into revealing 185 BTC, worth about $13 million.
