Crypto News, Coinbase-backed organization Stand With Crypto UK calls on its 286,000 members to file formal complaints against UK retail banks for broadly restricting crypto trading. The initiative aims to protest against nationwide banking rules that prevent or restrict customers from transferring funds to exchanges, including those registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). According to FCA research, about 8% of UK adults hold crypto assets. The organization's activities are based on data from the "Locked Out" report published in January 2026 by the UK Crypto Asset Business Committee, which surveyed 10 exchanges. The FCA report found that UK banks blocked or delayed 40% of domestic crypto transactions. In the past 12 months, 80% of these exchanges reported an increase in blocked transfers. The organization states that these policies apply to everyone, regardless of individual risk profiles.

Blocking 40% of domestic transactions, what kind of risk control is this? It's clearly lazy governance.

Obstructed growth increased by 80% over the past 12 months, and the trend clearly indicates the issue.

286k complaints; this number is enough to make the FCA sit up and take notice.

Why should the bank be the referee? My money, I decide.
