Seema Shah: U.S. inflation remains high, but cooling core data provides the Federal Reserve with some breathing room

Mars Finance news, according to Jintiao reports, Principal Asset Management’s Chief Global Strategist Seema Shah said that the U.S. inflation rate is still at a high level of 4%, but core data weaker than expected has eased some pressure. Since higher energy prices are the main driver, housing costs have improved, and so far there have been no signs of a broader second-round effect. This should allow the Federal Reserve to remain patient, even though the market appears to have priced in further rate hikes this year too aggressively, and that risk still exists.
