Cash secured puts are the single biggest mistake I see in options. PERIOD.


Think about what you're actually doing...
You're bullish enough to sell a put. You WANT the stock to go up.
So why are you parking a giant pile of cash behind it?
Cash that earns nothing.
Cash that doesn't participate in the upside.
I secure my puts with my base portfolio instead. $VOO and $Q.
So my collateral is compounding 10% a year on average WHILE I collect premium on top.
Same exact put.
One version has dead money behind it.
Mine has money working two jobs while keeping ratios WELL within check to be just fine in a 50%+ market crash.
CSPs leave money on the table every single month.
Stop doing it.
