Abstract generation in progress
On June 2, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman candidly admitted at the “Intelligence at Work” event that the Token costs of AI have now become a huge problem. He shared a set of data: six and a half years ago, the world’s most token-consuming users used 100,000 tokens per month; but today, that figure is only on par with the global per-capita level, while the current #1 user has to burn a full 100 billion tokens every month—an increase of one million-fold. He said that in the future, OpenAI wants to make AI as fundamental and widespread as water and electricity infrastructure, so that everyone can simply use it without having to worry about costs.
