CryptoWorld News: Mastercard has launched a payment protocol called Agent Pay for AI, which supports small payments between AI agents. The protocol uses the Polygon blockchain to record operational permissions granted by humans to AI agents. Adyen, Coinbase, and Cloudflare are involved in the development of this protocol. Jorn Lambert, Mastercard’s Chief Product Officer, said that the project will not become a major revenue source in the short term, but is expected to become a new scalable market in the next five years.

Polygon really “hugged the big leg” this time—this idea of recording access permissions on-chain is quite clever.
